Greenbuilt was founded in 1991 by Peter Wilshaw and was joined by Chris Coates in 1993, bringing together their years of professional experience in major civil engineering and alternative housing projects respectively.
In the early years Greenbuilt was supported by training courses at the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) in Wales, Greenbuilt set out to provide a cutting edge and at the time, unique mix of eco- building skills with training and facilitating people’s hands on involvement in creating sustainable living and working spaces.
Now Greenbuilt is based in the Staffordshire Moorlands, in the UK’s West Midlands, and offer a wide range of services including timber frame, straw bale, green oak structures. Greenbuilt also utilise other sustainable construction techniques and are currently developing off the peg solutions to small spaces and earthships.
Greenbuilt works with other members of the Association for Environment Conscious Building (AECB) to offer a range of complimentary specialist services including; renewable energy generation, green architectural services, environmentally friendly waste management, living roofs, community consultation, public art and sustainable landscape design.
